Thank you very much.
Dear Sir,
I would like to ask you some question !
My name is Niloofar Hd and this summer (august) I’d like to travel to Nepal for tourism with a group of persons visiting the country less than 30 days (around 7/10 days typical). I’m Iranian with Iranian passport and I need to know if it’s enough the visa on arrival.
Very best regards
Right Honorable Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal

Dear Prime Minister,
Animal Sacrifice at Gadhimai Mela
I am writing on behalf of Animals Asia Foundation, a Hong Kong-headquartered non-government organisation dedicated to improving the lives and welfare of all animals across Asia.
We are deeply concerned to hear of the pending slaughter of over 500,000 animals at the Gadhimai Festival due to begin on November 24. This unregulated slaughter is illegal under Nepalese laws and will cause immense suffering for the hundreds of thousands of animals due to be slaughtered. It will also bring shame upon your country and your people.
The mass, uncontrolled movement of animals to this festival also poses a great health risk through the potential transmission of animal borne diseases. Many of the animals will arrive illegally from across the Indian border effectively bypassing animal quarantine posts.
This slaughter has led to international condemnation for your country. As an international animal protection group that have always welcomed and supported the animal welfare progress in Nepal, particularly your recent ban on the export of macaques for research, there is now serious concern with regards to this festival.
Tradition is no justification for this barbaric mass slaughter, people both within Nepal and internationally are calling for an end to this atrocity and we urge you to work in conjunction with the festival organizers to end this immediately.
Yours sincerely,
Caterina Camastra
Honourable Prime Minister Madhav, Kumar Nepal

Dear Honourable Prime Minister
Animals Asia is deeply shocked and horrified to see the images of immense cruelty and suffering inflicted upon many thousands of animals following the Gadhimai festival in Bara, Nepal on the 24-25 November 2009. Despite our letters appealing for this slaughter to be prevented, the Nepalese government have chosen to ignore these pleas and justify this mass cruelty towards innocent animals by allowing this slaughter to take place.
This unregulated slaughter is illegal under Nepalese laws and has caused immense suffering for the hundreds of thousands buffalo, pigs, chickens, rats, goats, and pigeons that have been slaughtered. It has also brought shame upon your country and your people.
As an international animal protection group that have always welcomed and supported the animal welfare progress in Nepal, particularly your recent ban on the export of macaques for research, we are horrified by this cruelty.
The images of animal cruelty witnessed at the festival have been distributed worldwide and have seriously damaged the image of Nepal as a tourist destination for international visitors.
Traditions is no justification for this barbaric act, people both within Nepal and internationally are appalled at this atrocity and we urge you to work in conjunction with the festival organizers to prevent this from happening again.
Animals Asia urge the Nepalese government to enforce stronger animal protection laws to protect animals from this barbaric suffering and respectfully ask that the government embrace non-violent alternatives and end the slaughter of animals at future religious festivals.
Sincerely,
SIMONE CASARELLI
